Mallorca taxi prices, explained.

What you should expect to pay for a regulated taxi in Mallorca — and why every price you see is an estimate until the meter stops.

The short version

Taxis in Mallorca run on the official taximeter. A typical trip from Palma Airport to the city is between €25 and €35; longer trips to the resorts west of Palma are €35–€55. There are no surge fares.

Final fare is always determined by the official taximeter.

How the fare is built

  • A flag-fall, charged the moment your trip starts.
  • A per-kilometre rate that changes between weekday day-time and night/weekend tariffs.
  • Supplements for the airport, the cruise port, late-night hours and bulky luggage.
  • A minimum airport fare, published by the Consell de Mallorca.

Why prices look high in summer

Mallorca is one of the busiest tourist destinations in Europe and demand peaks between June and September. The fleet size is regulated, so wait times grow even though the meter rate does not. Walking to the nearest rank — rather than waiting where there is none — is often quicker.

Tipping

Tipping isn’t expected. Rounding up to the nearest euro is normal for good service.

FAQs

Are taxi prices in Mallorca fixed?+

Rates are set yearly by the Consell de Mallorca. Trips run on the official taximeter; there’s a flag-fall, a per-kilometre charge, and a small number of supplements. Drivers cannot legally negotiate the price.

How much is a taxi from Palma Airport to the city?+

Between roughly €25 and €35 for central Palma, including the airport supplement. Magaluf, Cala Major and resorts further west run higher. Final fare is always determined by the official taximeter.

Do Mallorca taxis accept card payment?+

Yes — card payment is mandatory in every licensed taxi by law. If a driver claims the card reader is broken, you can ask for a receipt and pay in cash, or wait for the next car in the rank.
